Corona Virus (COVID-19)  Statement

In the light of recent concerns and my ethical duty to prevent harm to clients, this statement sets out my current policy regarding the risk of Corona Virus (COVID-19).

I am following current public health advice including social distancing and have available facilities so that you can:

·         Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds on arrival should you wish

·         If available offer sanitiser gel

·         Provide tissues to cover your mouth and nose if you cough or sneeze

·         Provide a bin to dispose of tissues straight away

·         Provide clean bottled water and clean towels if needed when you attend counselling

If I need to self-isolate, I will contact you via our normal agreed method of communication to tell you. If I have reason to believe that my premises have been contaminated, I will also arrange a deep clean. I request that you also inform me if you need to self-isolate either as a precaution, because you believe there is a risk of being exposed to the virus or because you have symptoms and if so to cancel counselling sessions. I am following public health guidance in trying to avoid close contact with people who are unwell and request that you do the same.

I do not currently plan to close my practice, however I will continue to review public health and government directives.  If you need to cancel a session within my normal notice period of 48 hours due to COVID-19 concerns, I will review this sympathetically within my cancellation policy.

If you or I are self-isolating as a precaution rather than due to illness, I may be able to offer telephone, text, email or online support depending on circumstances if face to face meetings are not possible. However, if either party is unwell and experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, the best option would be to take a break from therapy until fully recovered in line with health guidance.
